Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day today! I hope your weekend has been great. Isn’t it funny that we celebrate Labor Day here in the US by having the day off and not working? For those fortunately to have paid days off, we celebrate. For those who are at work, working in the service industry or our men and women overseas in the armed forces, we salute you for keeping the inner-workings of our country going. Whether you’re at work or at home, here’s a read for you, the hard-working people everywhere!

The Hot Wheels Bread Box casting was first released as part of the 2010 New Models Series (shown above). It was first released in white and was succeeded by red and blue color variations. It was designed by Hot Wheels Designer Jun Imai and is modeled after the Jeep FJ-3 Fleetvan. While the postal service got the nod in the first and most recent release, the Bread Box has also served as a courier truck and a nostalgic billboard for Carvel Ice Cream, Masters of the Universe & Harley Quinn of Batman/DC Comics fame. It should be noted that with the name “Bread Box“, you would think it would have had a version with some sort of bread deco, but it has not yet.

Collectors everywhere have clamored for this vehicle to be painted up as a Wonder Bread Delivery Truck but no such iteration has been in the works yet. Custom Bread Boxes with the Wonder Bread scheme have sold on the secondary market for as much as $15 when done nicely.

The Bread Box, a collector favorite already, will almost surely be released in some very nice schemes in the future. This collector, for one, is very excited to see what is yet to come!
