Grim Reaper’s Ride?

0827 - Blast Lane - Skull & Crossbones copy

Back in the early 2000s, Hot Wheels collectors did not have the luxury of collecting the multitude of motorcycles we have nowadays. When the Scorchin’ Scooter was released in 1997, collectors flocked to the pegs as Hot Wheels had never before released a motorcycle in the mainline. Then again in 2000, Hot Wheels released the Blast Lane. Collectors again sought out this motorcycle as it was only the 2nd one to be released. Today we have a Hot Wheels Motorcycles line complete with riders custom designed for each bike. So lets take a journey back a little ways and look at a Blast Lane from 2001.

Pictured above, we have the Blast Lane from the 2001 Skull & Crossbones Series. While, I really don’t collect motorcycles, this is one bike I had to have. The all-black bike had these really sharp black 3-spoke motorcycle wheels w/ a purple-chrome trim. There was a tiny crossbones emblem behind the seat as well. This was just a beautifully executed bike that you could see the Grim Reaper or a Vampire riding. If you collect Halloween cars or cars of a darker genre, don’t forget about this beauty from 2001.
