We are throwing it all the way back today to 1989—the reemergence of the modern day Batman and the best Batmobile of all! The car pictured is a Hot Wheels Batmobile that most collectors refer to as the ’89 Batmobile. There are so many Batmobiles (Hot Wheels makes just about every one) that collectors were tasked with trying to differentiate them. This Hot Wheels casting of this Batmobile was released in the 2004 First Editions, which are often referred to as the year of the Hot 100. It has been very limited in its appearances since, but very attainable in the secondary market as most sell for in the $1-$2 range. This 2004 First Edition version features a matte black paint job and classic 5-spoke wheels. It also works with most track sets and its quite fast on the downhill track since its got a metal body and a metal base. The next time you’re out hunting for Hot Wheels check out its 2013 release in gloss black and gray Phil Riehlman 5-Spoke (PR5) wheels…its currently in stores…or stroll on over to eBay or the Toy Peddler and snag this classic before the Joker does!
